Winter Morning

A few hours out of my January house cleaning for crocheting something softy pink, with hot tea to help keep me warm...and a delicious audiobook to keep me company.
Baked potatoes with chili topping are on the menu for dinner, and a chocolate cake with frosting will be my afternoon's baking occupation. A good day.
A very happy birthday to my little brother!

Ah, I remember such days... I expect they'll return in about twenty or thirty years. :)

How much longer until that "something pink" gets to be used?

But what are the pretty pink things? Pieces for a quilt?

The softy pink things are little ruffly roses that are supposed to go in a "rose trellis" afghan...with little green leaves around and such. I started the project because I had so many evenings away from my home while C made cabinets for his parents, and I wanted something to keep my hands busy while I watched or waited for him. We don't know whether Baby will be a boy or a girl, so if it's a girl she'll have a little rose afghan for her bed, and if it's a boy I'll just use it around my house to bring a spot of cheery pink to some unsuspecting corner!

If you were referring to when Baby arrives, Ashleigh...my due date is March 15th. It's coming right up! I am so excited. (I have a little 'baby-gaga' ticker at the bottom of my blog to keep track of the countdown.) My tummy is getting big fast now. I should post a picture of it...as soon as I can get my C to take one. It's awfully hard to take a picture of one's own tummy!

I enjoyed hearing from you both. :)
