“[I]n respect of our ignorance, we stand in need of His prophetical office;
and in respect of our alienation from God, and imperfection of the best of our
services, we need His priestly office to reconcile us and present us acceptable
unto God; and in respect of our averseness and utter inability to return to
God, and for our rescue and security from our spiritual adversaries, we need His
kingly office to convince, subdue, draw, uphold, deliver, and preserve us to His
heavenly kingdom.”
(The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689, VIII “Of Christ the Mediator”:10)

Amen.
Beautiful, humbling. Makes me want to weep and rejoice.
The picture is beautiful, by the way. :)
Jesus bless your Resurrection Sunday!
Oh, thank you for your comment, sweet cousin. It encouraged my heart so to know that it resonated with your heart as it did mine!
He is Risen!
He is Risen, indeed! What joy I felt looking out on the sunrise and knowing His disciples found the tomb empty then :) Thank you for posting!
Thank you for your post! I have stumbled :) from Pleasantview Schoolhouse, and I am glad to have found your site.

Did you know that Fernando Ortega sings Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted? He sings it VERY beautifully.
Yes, actually that's where I learned it and loved it. It was on one of his very first albums, I think. It's beautiful. Mama went and heard him sing (with Michael Card, maybe?) and brought some albums home with her...oh, over ten years ago now it would be. Loved them ever since. :)
