A delicious Christmas package arrived in the mail today. The opening of it caused such gaspings and oohings that Greta looked concerned. The first thing I saw when I took out the packing paper was a shallow wooden box filled with these beautiful straw-art ornaments. I was thrilled! Snowflakes and bells, wreaths and reindeer. So European and so the very thing I would love to have in my home at Christmastime. Sister helped me to hang them from the raspberry branches that I have over my living room archway. So perfect.
Thank you ever so much, Miss A.!

The video is of the stop signs in the Walmart

parking lot flapping in the wind yesterday.

They made us laugh!

(Taken from the safety of a snug truck cab

before we ventured out to go into the store.)

{another skirt}

My skirt was roughly based on the skirt from this 1950's dress pattern and made from fine corduroy. It turned out well, I think, and I wore it to a Christmas party in the evening. Now for some heels to wear with it!

While I was finishing the last bits of my skirt, my little Rosebud found the kitchen cupboard that she likes and decided to try the fettucine.

early morning

Snuggling with Greta in front of the fire after sending Daddy off to work ~'::

Daddy has spicy chicken broth in his thermos to protect him against the cold this morning--a good thing since it's 0°F out!

evening lull

~a mug of tea, cut-out sugar cookies from sister, chalkboard door to sketch inspiration on, colored lights and a few more ornaments to put up, my dude out in the garage finishing a car repair job *brrr*~

(Greta Rose was keeping me company... I found an ornament that she could have and she was very happy chewing on tiny Mr. Bear's nose!)
