My project today? A game bag for brother Ben made from a 'possum hide! The fur was trapped and tanned by Will, and Dad showed me how to use his sewing awl. I cut the pattern out last night and then did the sewing of it today. I'm all inspired; I'm dreaming up laced legwarmers from coon and hand warmers from muskrat--but that's for another day. For now we're pretty pleased with this trapper's pouch.

I have been visiting my family again. You've probably noticed. My man has been working for a friend for a couple of days; this time in North Dakota. It sounds like there is quite a bit of snow. :)

We have been following the Iditarod with excitement. Our breakfast this morning, though Mama's oatmeal was excellent, was much improved by the news that overnight Lance Mackey had pulled in front by several hours! Oh yeah. Go Lance.
Do you suppose it's too late for me to learn how to mush?
